Carter Day 11 x 28 Modular Scalperator Usually considered a pre-cleaner, the Scalperator is typically one of the first machines used in a process to remove scalpings and dust. Simply put, the machine acts as a scalper and an aspirator, hence the term "Scalperator". The scalping is accomplished by cascading the product over the outside of a rotating screen. The good product (thrus) falls through the screen and the large materials (scalpings) are lifted and discharged from the machine. The scalped product is then aspirated in a high-velocity air column. The light materials and dust are lifted into a liftings chamber. It is here where the heavier dusts (or sometimes secondary products) are discharged. The light dust is carried off to an external dust collection point. The primary product is discharged with minimal dust or scalpings present. Gently used unit. Tested. Works great.
